The prevalence of chronic illnesses continues to grow globally, making their management a critical, multidisciplinary effort.
In order to achieve optimal health outcomes for patients, it’s important for health professionals to understand the interrelation of psychological and social factors, and the impact these psychosocial components can have on a patient’s mental and physical wellbeing.
In this credential you will:
- identify distress and the psychosocial impacts of chronic illness on patients
- examine the therapeutic approaches to managing the psychosocial impacts of chronic illness on patients
- investigate the types of psychosocial interventions available and their efficacy for patients with a chronic illness.
To be successful in this credential requires experience in the following:
- a degree in any discipline or several years’ experience of working in a related profession.
